Charity Spotlight: Place of Hope

Place of Hope is an organization in the Palm Beach, Florida area that is dedicated to helping abused and neglected children. They aim to keep siblings together in foster care and provide transitional housing to families in need. The organization also offers safe transitioning for human trafficking victims. This non-profit helps so many so it is our honor to have been a part of their yearly fundraising gala.

The food was modern and delicious and beautifully arranged.

The decor was filled with rhinestones and sparkle. This opulent look set the tone for the night to raise the most money possible.

The entertainment matched the decor of mesmerizing, memorable and momentous. Our circus like performers took an average hula hoop and made it spectacular. These award winning performers bought a wow factor to the gala and kept the guests attention.

Transformation Tuesday: Haunted Bayou Halloween Party

This event for one of our favorite clients was themed "Taboola in the Bayou" and aimed to capture the mystique and eeriness of New Orleans on Halloween. The transformation took 6 hours, 12 team members and thousands of feet of ivy! The above vignette was made of skulls, roses, 
candelabras and apothecary jars.

Not only did the decor capture the theme but the menu did as well. Mini muffaletta sandwiches and jambalaya where just a few items being passed to reflect the cajun taste of the Bayou.

The webs, ivy and lighting all worked together to create a swampy, spooky look. The ping pong tables were also customized with a skull mouth and eye decal.

Framed photos were hung and draped with ivy.

Hot Trend: Coral, Hot Pink and Turquoise Table!

My favorite blog, Elements of Style featured this gorgeous table from a fabulous event designer Eddie Ross. I just love the trend of these summer colors together - the coral, hot pink and turquoise...off the hook! And the gold ads an element of glamour that can take this table from a social tea to a formal wedding. My favorite part about this table is the unexpected pattern on the linen. It's very fashion forward and stops this ensemble from being over the top feminine.
Erin from E of S recreated this table and used awesome finds but I wanted to use only rentals in case you wanted to reproduce this for a large event (or prove to you that I can reproduce this for a large event). Here goes...
I went to Party Rental Ltd to get most of the items. They have a vast selection of rentals including tableware, linens and chairs. Here are names of the items above:

As much as I love peonies, especially the ones that are pictured in the inspiration, we are at the tail end of the season. But, garden roses are a great substitution. I found the turquoise candle holders from Colorful Dishes online retailer. The votive cups are from Target
The hot pink taper candles are a fun take but I am LOVING the turquoise ones...I just couldn't find them...boohoo! And if you have the budget go for
hot pink chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

Take a Seat...In Style

Let's face it, some reception chairs at venues cannot only clash with your decor, it can RUIN it. Maybe the budget fell short or maybe the designer was out the day they chose the seating but whatever the reason don't let them destroy your vision. Chair covers have long been the go-to solution to hide these hideous seats but they can pose a few problems. 1. They can be costly. 2. They don't always fit the size of the chairs supplied. 3. Those 6" heels can get caught in the excess fabric that hangs on the floor causing spills for even the sober but fashionable guest.(I've seen this and it isn't pretty). The solution? Get completely NEW chairs altogether! Fabulous rental chairs are being available to make your event look hip, fun, funky, romantic, or just plain beautiful. Here are some of my faves:

If you don't know what chair will go with your color scheme go with Ghost. These clear acrylic chairs are perfect for any theme. I saw recently that clear furniture is on the OUT but I disagree, I think this trend it here to stay. Plus I want them for my own house...two please!
