 The holiday was magical but truth be told we know that each time you opened one of those boxes, you were secretly hoping for the one thing that you were not sure that you would get. Trying to hide your disappointment, you remain aloof. It was easy to tell, something was up.

Just as the ball drops and the flood of text messages that wished “Happy New Year” began to seep into your IPhone you could hardly believe your eyes when the man of your dreams is in front of you on one knee. Of course you said yes! You might even want to scold him for making you wait. Family and friends in tow, you celebrated into the night. The next morning, still one questions lingers.

“What do I do now?”

Being a bride in 2016 isn’t easy but Event Kings has outlined 4 essential steps to ensure that you can have your wedding cake and eat it too.

1. Set a date

Everything and we mean everything for this wedding will depend on the date. That will be the first question that friends and family will ask. Once you have a date, or even two tentative dates you can move forward with the planning process. The things to consider when choosing a date are time proximity – how close or far away the date it from time you were engaged and seasonal preference. Considering the season is important because weather will also affect many aspects of the planning process.

  2. Do a guest count.

Get cozy with your mom and mother-in-law to be by sitting down and making a list of family and friends that are absolute must haves. If this doesn’t suit you, then sit down with your future hubby and brainstorm. Once you have these two numbers, move on to the most important step.

We’ve had enough of “hum-drum holiday”.  Believe me; it’s so easy to get caught in the trap. How does one create a Christmas that feels inspired in the midst of shelves full of outdated Elves and musty old Santas? At Event Kings, with our sister division, King Lily Floral we know how to capture the majesty of winter.

The trick is to choose items and decorations that evoke the comfort of the classic traditions that we all yearn for during the cold winter months and combine them with current trends. It’s an ability to combine the posh and polished with the simple and rustic. 

During the month of December, red and blue always seemed to be the go to shades. Jessica Ciardullo, owner and designer at King Lily Floral offers a new perspective, “My trend this year is green and gold. Especially green runners made from magnolia leaves, ruscus, seeded eucalyptus and evergreen.”

Even more perfect, is that the utilization of green – especially evergreen – provides a non-denominational holiday atmosphere. Everyone can recognize the beauty found in nature. These floral arrangements compliment winter perfectly, like quite little evergreens tucked away in a snowy forest. Strategically placed tea lights supply miniature glimmers of magic for guests to enjoy as they sparkle. Sumptuous runners cascade over the tables, imitating the lush winter forest of our favorite fairy tales.


Green makes a statement all on its own, but if you want to add accents that convey luxury, then gold is the way to go. Jessica explains, "Accents in gold add to the holiday glamour but with a modern feel." In other words, don't be afraid to shine. Gold is not gaudy when it is used as a well-placed accent. It's a shade that speaks to warmth and comfort, perfectly complimenting the lucious green landscape of a en elegant holiday party.

We Designed and Coordinated a Wedding for a Beautiful Couple from Colorado a few weeks ago.

They wanted something simple and rustic, but most of all they wanted to have a blast!

They also wanted to have their ceremony and reception in their family's backyard, that just so happened to be on the Long Island Sound- which provided a beautiful backdrop.

The centerpieces were modest and very beachy. We used drift wood that the couple found on their property and incorporated it into the table decor with succulents, greenery and a touch of cream and pale pink flowers. Even their cake was decorate with simple greenery.

We created a beautiful Arch  that the Couple got married under with Curly Willow that framed the view of the Sound. 

Guests were also greeted and directed around the property by vintage style signs on drift wood and pieces of old wood accompanied by over sized Lanterns.

We dressed up the Backyard by framing the dance floor with large bulb rope lights draped from birch poles. This added an amazing glow to the atmosphere throughout the evening.


As you can see- the view was absolutely gorgeous. As the sun set- the Newlyweds exchanged vows, and then guests were invited to the Tent to eat a fantastic dinner by Elegant Eating.

It truly was an amazing evening- and a very unique wedding. We loved working with this couple and their families- and wish them nothing but the best!

Hollywood Movie Glam


This past weekend we did a Bat Mitzvah with an Amazing Theme- Old Hollywood Movie Glam!  Color Theme was Deep Reds, Deep Pinks, Black & Gold. We had Movie Reels, Film Strip, and Clap Boards incorporated in Every Aspect!



We did 3 Different Types of Movie Inspired Centerpieces. The Photo Above has a Floral Base comprised of Deep Red Roses and Red Gebera Daisies along with Dark Pink Stock. The Inner Lit Calla Lilies hung from Gold Old Fashioned Movie Reels adorned with old strips of film.

Below is another one of the Centerpieces we did. This one was a Cylinder vase that housed Pink Stock with an Inner Lit Gold Lamp Shade on Top.  Around the base there were Small Bud Vases wrapped in Old Film with Pink Stock and Scattered Crystals.



The Last Centerpiece was Floral and Film Strips Intertwined. We also decorated the Lounge Area and Kids Lounge with smaller Floral Pieces that included Clap Boards, Film Strips and Black Feathers.


 
 

To Give the Guests a Authentic Hollywood Movie Feel- We put a spin on the Seating Card Table. We built a Theater Curtain and hung Gold & Silver Movie Reels. The Place Cards were designed after an old Movie or Theater Ticket, and instead of Table Numbers- Each Table was named after the Mitzvah Girl's Favorite Movies.

Romantic Vintage Wedding


A few weeks ago we Planned & Produced a Wedding for an AMAZING COUPLE! The first time we met with them a few months ago- we knew we would have a great time producing this event.


The Bride & Groom wanted a Vintage Romantic Feel. She was creating this idea from an old telegram her Grandfather had send her Grandmother.



Here is a close up of the Esperance Rose that we used throughout the Bouquets and Centerpieces.

We absolutely LOVED how Big this rose was and the mix of the Cream and Blush.


Esperance Roses, Cream Roses, and White Stock, wrapped with Cream Lace for Bridesmaid's Bouquets.


The Bride & Groom decided on taking Old Wedding Photos of their Family Members, placing them in frames and using them as Table Numbers. It added a beautifully personal touch.



Scattered around the tables were duplicates of Old Family Photos.

On top of that we placed strands of Pearls, Pink Cameos, Broaches, and other little trinkets.

We also brought in our own Votive Holders decorated with a Gold Lace Print.

 

This is our personal FAVORITE.

While some table had 1 Large Milk Glass Piece. Other Tables had 3 Different Sizes of Milk Glass.

This Lucky Table had a Milk Glass Teacup!


  


This was another personal touch from the Bride & Groom. Instead of a regular toiletry basket, they chose to use Vintage Style Suitcases- How Cool!

  
As part of our Floral Duties- King Lily Floral, decorated their cake with matching flowers from all the centerpieces.

At the End of the Wedding, the Bride & Groom's  gratitude was enough to make all the long hours WORTH IT!

When the Bride said, "I had a vision, and you helped me make it as beautiful in reality as it was in my mind", it was enough to melt our hearts!

Bling Bling Bouquets

Add a  little Bling to your Table


Today is Flower Friday! The theme from King Lily Floral is Bling Bling Floral.


Whether your centerpieces for a Baby Shower or the Bouquet for your Wedding- it could always use a little Bling !



 

Here are some centerpieces that we  recently did for a Baby Shower. They were simple white flowers that included hydrangeas, mums and roses. The base is where the Bling came in!


We also provided votive candles with some Bling to be placed around the centerpieces 
and tie in the theme.


 

For this Bride's Bouquet the stems were wrapped in some Bling while we placed individual diamonds and crystals into the face of the roses.


We did the same for this yellow and green bouquet.


For this flower-less centerpiece, we hung tear drop shaped crystals from the birch branches.


We also sprinkled loose crystals around the base. Bling, Bling & More Bling!


Finally, this seating card centerpiece is dripping in crystals.
