We brought the Kentucky Derby to Long Island for one of our favorite clients. This school fundraiser created buzz for high attendance with this wonderful and fun theme. Guests adorned fascinators, fancy hats and suspenders while betting on horse races throughout the night. They raised a record amount and guests left saying it was the best soiree yet!

Event Kings sets up their night at the races event with a betting booth where two attendants hand out betting forms for each race.

Races last minutes so you can play as many or as little as you want to accommodate your event schedule and goals.

And of course what derby would be complete without spectacular hats?

Event Spotlight: Pajama Program

2:59 PM

Sometimes even the little things we take for granted can mean so much to someone who doesn't have, including clean pajamas. The organization Pajama Program works to collect clean and new pajamas to give to children who are forced from their homes into a foster care or group home situation. They believe every child deserves a loving and safe bedtime routine that will lead to a good nights rest and a better day. We agree, and so Event Kings was proud to be part of their annual fundraiser gala at Capitale in lower Manhattan.

Guests entered the venue greeted by a harlequin stilt walker with a custom made, beautiful outfit to fit the theme "Good Nights are Good Days."

At cocktail hour our guests saw another harlequin inspired performer to represent the day. In addition, the room was lit in blue for nighttime and oversize white balloons were lit to represent moons.

Inside the venue was lit in blue that later turned to amber to represent the good morning. The centerpieces were inspired by the sun and moon. Yellow floral like mums, hydrangea and roses made a large centerpiece on top of a glass trumpet vase. The vase was lit with a string of fairy lights. The moon was represented with an airy ball of baby's breath. The tie it all together, low centerpieces were cylinders filled with yellow and blue orchids with a luminary in the center.

The night was elegant and inspiring and Event Kings was honored to be a part of it!

So, what do the Islander’s Children’s Fund, March of Dimes, Carol Baldwin, and the Boys and Girls Club All Have in common? They have trusted Event Kings to produce a fundraiser. You might even say that here at Event Kings, we have a degree of expertise in the arena of fundraising.

Through our experience we have learned that one of the largest problems that many organizations face while trying to plan a successful fundraiser is designing a model that is both entertaining and profitable. In many circumstances improper planning can lead to a loss of a revenue from donations. At Event Kings, we understand that your fundraising event ultimately needs to bring in money for your cause. Lucky for you, we’ve got the perfect solution: “A Night at the Races”

“A Night at the Races” is the perfect way to ensure that guests are having fun and that your organization is generating funds. It’s also an excellent compliment to a Casino Fundraiser or an interesting alternative.

Much like a casino fundraiser, “A Night at the Races” utilizes custom printed fun money that is distributed to guests as part of the registration costs. Monitors are used to display races and guests can use their fun money to place bets, creating an ambiance of excitement! As your guests deplete their supply of fun money they are encouraged to donate funds in exchange for more fun money at the booth and continue the fun. As a result, your organization is able to raise revenue and guests are able to indulge in a little guilt-free excitement. Providing prizes or incentives so that guests can cash in their remaining fun money at the end of the night provides an additional reason for guests to keep playing. Have a “Most Fancy Hat Contest” for the ladies, and encourage the gentlemen of your organization to don a classic derby hat. There are hundreds of exciting ways to execute this innovative theme.

For fundraisers that produce results, bet your bottom dollar on Event Kings.

When we last discussed a fundraising event on the EK Blog, I filled you in on some fabulous fundraising options. By now, you understand that the return on investment or “ROI” of your expertly executed event (we can help you with that, trust me) transcends beyond donations. The way that a fantastic and functional fundraiser reflects on your organization is free advertising and all of that positive attention is going to generate generosities for years to come.
Take a look at The NY Islanders’ Casino Fundraiser: this event was the definition of a casual fun environment that got supporters

excited about the cause. Providing high quality
entertainment options such as a photo booth treats your supporters like celebrities.
That being said, there is no easier way to scare off a potential supporter than by accosting them with paper application or inaccessible information. Part of marketing a successful fundraising campaign into 2016 is by providing online and mobile access to your event. Facebook is one way to provide registrants with free online registration. Pay-Pal can be a great way to collect registration fees before the event. Going into the future, the organizations that are able to thrive are the ones that are able to keep up with our tech-savvy culture. Supporters love to see visual reinforcements on web of their donations through widgets and thermometers that keep track of the organization’s goals.

Event Kings knows how to execute fundraisers to perfection and can assist your organization in designing the kind of fundraiser that makes dollars and sense. A casino atmosphere is a creative way to keep your cause in the minds of your supporters as they enjoy your fabulous event. While supporters enjoys the tables they are

reminded of the real reason for the event each time they glance at the fun money printed with your moniker- to complete the authentic experience.

The sooner you realize that Fundraising Events are the future of your organization the sooner you too can reap the benefits of an event that generates pride, publicity and donations.

How to Establish and Maintain a Fantastic Donor Network

eventkingsny.com

(631)392-1234

Fundraising is a key element to the vitality of many organizations.  The obvious goal of this type of event is to generate donations. However, any Dollar-Smart Director might also observe that a fundraising event is a great way to gain publicity and establish a repertoire within their community. What better way to thank your donors for their new or continued support than by inviting them to an event that promotes fun and a sense of community, all while honoring the cause?

The first step to any fundraiser is to establish your purpose. What is our goal? Who are we reaching out to? Your next step is to call us (Event Kings 631-392-1234) because we have the leadership and the resources to create the kind of event that donors will be excited to attend. A fun atmosphere promotes a spirit of giving wherein your guests will be delighted to support the group in reaching their goals.

Once you’ve taken these steps, we can assist you in recognizing and meeting all your fundraising needs. From choosing a theme, a venue, a bevy of entertainment options and revenue generating activities that guests will talk about until next year’s event.

Create a laid back fun atmosphere with a signature Casino Night. Dazzle your donors will a glamorous gala. Keep it low key with a live band, hot dogs and carnival games. Choosing engaging and unconventional activities is a great way to keep a donor interested – year after year! There’s no better opportunity to gain publicity, establish your network and thank your existing donors for their support than with a memorable fundraising event.

Dance Party for Parkinsons: Zumbathon
Team Fox

Members of Team Fox, Beth Hochstein and Sharon Greif, headed the Zumbathon on October 23rd 2011. Event Kings helped Coordinator the Event and provided Balloon Decor.  After helping Team Fox at their previous event at Pacha in May, we were more than thrilled to donate our services.

In 2006 the Michael J. Fox Foundation created Team Fox, a group where members and leaders of the Foundation can find new and different ways to raise money for research on Parkinson's Disease. Members of Team Fox have raised over $12 Million since the group was launched.

Here is a picture of our very own Steven Vogel & Catherine Cannizzaro with Team Fox Leader, Beth Hochstein.

Open to the public, guest entered and were greeted with Team Fox water bottles. The first room they entered was filled with Vendors selling items such as, hand bags, cupcakes, jewelery and more; a percentage of their proceeds were donated to the foundation. Sponsors such as FUZE and Reddi Care Physical Therapy, giving out free Drinks & Massages.

Then the fun starts. After Beth gave a speech, several Zumba Instructors started the Dance Party. Guests danced/ exercised along with the instructors for 2 hours.

100% of ticket sales went directly to  The Michael J. Fox Foundation. We were truly honored to be a part of this Event and look forward to the next one.
