Event Spotlight: Barn Wedding on the North Fork of LI

1:51 PM

Two divisions of Event Kings; Weddings by Event Kings and Kings Lily Floral, had the opportunity to plan and design a wedding at a Christmas Tree Farm in Southold, NY. Wedding planner Christine Dirr and floral designer Jessica Ciardullo are always excited for unusual wedding locations that allow the bride and grooms personalities to really shine through. Dart's Christmas Tree farm offered just that, with its rustic barn and large, lush green field to hold an upscale tent, it captured the couples casual but elegant style.

The cocktail hour was held in and around the vintage barn complete with an authentic red tractor as added decor.

The tent was stunning among the cleared out field that was surrounded by Christmas trees. The stained wood poles and clear sides added warmth and sophistication to the affair.

The floral design was made of textured greens and accenting white floral along the custom built farm tables. Candles in various shapes and sizes were placed throughout to make the evening glow!

Silver dollar eucalyptus, seeded greens, lemon leaf and ruscus accented the white floral and hearty succulents for all the bouquets.

What farm wedding is not complete without a tractor ride?

Event Spotlight: Pajama Program

2:59 PM

Sometimes even the little things we take for granted can mean so much to someone who doesn't have, including clean pajamas. The organization Pajama Program works to collect clean and new pajamas to give to children who are forced from their homes into a foster care or group home situation. They believe every child deserves a loving and safe bedtime routine that will lead to a good nights rest and a better day. We agree, and so Event Kings was proud to be part of their annual fundraiser gala at Capitale in lower Manhattan.

Guests entered the venue greeted by a harlequin stilt walker with a custom made, beautiful outfit to fit the theme "Good Nights are Good Days."

At cocktail hour our guests saw another harlequin inspired performer to represent the day. In addition, the room was lit in blue for nighttime and oversize white balloons were lit to represent moons.

Inside the venue was lit in blue that later turned to amber to represent the good morning. The centerpieces were inspired by the sun and moon. Yellow floral like mums, hydrangea and roses made a large centerpiece on top of a glass trumpet vase. The vase was lit with a string of fairy lights. The moon was represented with an airy ball of baby's breath. The tie it all together, low centerpieces were cylinders filled with yellow and blue orchids with a luminary in the center.

The night was elegant and inspiring and Event Kings was honored to be a part of it!

Event Spotlight: Professional PT

5:00 AM

Last year, our client Professional PT wanted a holiday party that reflected the growing success they have experienced during the year. The theme was "Reach for the Sky" and was interpreted in a sleek, futuristic, out-of-this-world way.

The venue was Capitale in lower Manhattan and the guest list was over 1100 which meant the decor needed to be big and bold. We brought in "out of this world" entertainment with two aerialist who suspended from the ceiling and did intervals of 10-15 minute shows.

The decor gave the futuristic vibe with glow in the dark orbs inside stacking bowls. They were filled with orchids and silver spheres.

When to Hire a Wedding Planner

4:47 PM

To hire a wedding planner or not? That is the question on many bride and groom's minds as they prepare for the big day. Many people think hiring a planner is an unnecessary cost. While in some cases you may not need the extra help, but in many it is vital. Here are some situations where we know a wedding planner is a must;

Getting Married at a Private Residence
Nothing is more intimate or personal than getting married at a private home. Whether it is yours or a relative's, a planner is key for many reasons. First; we've done this hundreds of times and know exactly what you need to do to prepare the space. Do you have electric available? Do you need to rent a bathroom trailer? Did you spray for insects? Having planned events in private residences we can guide you on how to perfectly prepare for a large event. In addition, the last thing you want to do the day of your wedding is make sure the DJ arrives. Let your planner check in every vendor and put out any fire that may arise while you calmly get ready for your big day!

Getting Married at an Nontraditional Location
Getting married at a nontraditional location is such a memorable event for you and your guests. Campground, Christmas Tree Farm, Vineyard? We've done them all and know the permits, timing, hidden costs and where to save in order to hold your wedding at a location other than a catering hall.

Large Wedding Party
There's nothing like being surrounded by all your loved ones and friends on your special day. But sometimes a large wedding party can lead to a large headache! Organizing more than 8 bridesmaids and groomsmen can be stressful. Add a very emotionally involved family and you can find yourself stressed for months before the wedding. A wedding planner will diffuse any tension by organizing logistics and timeline for you.

Lots of Little Details
Details make a wedding YOUR day. They add the personal touch that guests remember. That being said, sometimes a lot of details can be tough to execute all on your own. Many venues offer to place menus, favors, etc. but when it comes down to your entire vision only a wedding planner will make certain everything is exactly the way you want it.

Nerves
Who isn't nervous for your wedding day. Months of planning for a five hour event can make even the most serene person crazy! But if the idea of planning a wedding gives you a panic attack instead of butterflies then a wedding planner is a must. You will have a hand to hold with every step of the process and someone to help organize all the details that keep you up at night so you actually enjoy your engagement and the wedding!

If you are getting married and looking for a planner then contact us today! Our social division, Weddings by Event Kings, will make sure everything is perfect for your big day.

Get the Most out of Your Company Picnic

1:46 PM

When companies host a picnic for their team it always turns out to be a great investment. Each year we see employees leave happy, feeling appreciated and motivated to work hard for their employer. It gives our team at Event Kings a sense of pride to be able to bring world class catering, games, attractions, entertainment and event management to the corporate world.
Here are a few tips to make this year's picnic amazing!

Don't Forget the Kids
If a company chooses to include the families of their team members make sure to have activities and entertainment for them as well. Our carnival games attract kids of all ages and with prizes for participation everyone has fun! It's also a good idea to offer a craft that acts as a keepsake as well.

Make It A Team Event
When companies combine teambuilding into their picnic they see more return on their investment. Games and challenges that encourage teams to work together achieves a few goals; one being that it brings staff from various departments together for a day. Another great benefit is that it forces teams to flex their problem solving skills while having fun.

Bring In Something Different
It shows your team you care when you change things up each year. The same old picnic can keep guests complacent. Our giant billiards is just one example of an attraction that is new and fun for everyone.

How will you picnic this year?

Happy Birthday to Event Kings

5:44 PM

This April marks the eight year anniversary for Event Kings and we can't believe it's been that long! Time flies when you are having fun, and planning great events.

Looking back on some of the most memorable moments this year and seeing how much we have grown is amazing. By adding a total of five divisions to our umbrella, Event Kings now provides more direct services to our clients.

Our social division, Weddings by Event Kings, along with our floral division, King Lily Floral have worked together this year to create weddings and social events in the most interesting sites across Long Island. They transformed a pavilion at an East Hampton camp site and a Christmas Tree Farm in Southold into stunning wedding venues. Christine, our wedding planner along with Jessica our floral designer have become a team that not only connects with their clients but brings their vision to life.

This holiday season Event Kings executed a phenomenal corporate event at Capitale for over 1,000 guests complete with aerialist and customized centerpieces. We also produced casino fundraisers for many worthy causes and were honored to be a part of their fundraising efforts.

Happy Birthday to us but thanks to all of our loyal clients who have supported us thus far.

What is Your WOW Factor?

10:21 AM

What makes an event truly memorable? For some its the food, the dancing or the decor. For most it's something they have never seen before! That unforgettable moment is usually created by a form of entertainment that is unique and amazing. This becomes especially important at events that are asking for donations and that want to make their guests feel truly important. Gala fundraisers and employee recognition events greatly benefit from that WOW factor entertainment.

When we were asked to produce an event at Capitale in NYC the theme was "Sky's the Limit" and instantly we envisioned our aerialist performers hanging from the 65 foot high ceilings. The amazing mini shows throughout the night brought the party to a new level. Guests raved about the performances for days after the event.

We upgraded an average Sweet 16 to a memorable event with this larger than life stilt walker for this Roaring 20's theme. Her presence excited the guests and got them up and on the dance floor.

For a corporate holiday party with an Alice in Wonderland theme, we had a live table! This Queen of Hearts inspired live statue stood with the cocktail hour food and livened up the event.
At a grand opening of new development, we had a bubble performer!
What will be your WOW factor at your event?
